We raise our beef the old-fashioned way, with good old Iowa corn, alfalfa, and a little soybean
meal thrown in for the added protein. It has the natural marbling of the angus breed, which
leads to its tenderness and juiciness.
We do NOT implant our calves with growth hormones or steroids, as is commonly done in commercial,
"feedlot" beef. We do NOT give our calves routine antibiotics, nor does their feed include
"animal by-products". Our calves are raised the "natural" way. It may take a little longer, but
we feel that you will agree it's well worth the wait.
Our calves are born in the spring and remain with their mothers on pasture until early fall. After
weaning, they are pastured, then turned into the cornstalks to graze. Their diet consists of
ground ear corn, cracked shelled corn, leafy green alfalfa, and eventually soybean meal for
additional protein. We provide shelter from the wintery winds, always plenty of fresh water, and
a watchful eye. Mother Nature does the rest. Give us a try and find out just how good
old-fashioned, home fed beef can be. It's Angus, naturally!
