Introduction

Welcome to the Gehling Angus pages. My goals are similar to other purebred breeders. That is to produce breeding stock with performance and carcass traits that will satisfy the commercial breeder and the consumer. They must be healthy, structurally sound and have excellent reproductive characteristics. I place a high value on disposition. As fellow cattlemen know we are constantly working around these animals and things just go smoother. I believe that appearance and style are also important. Whether we choose by carcass data and/or epd's, appearance and style "are" deciding factors. I also believe when selling an animal as a replacement that the puchaser must be able to make a profit or it will result in a negative effect on our business. Thus, they are valued accordingly. I very much enjoy raising registered angus. The excitement of seeing the results of genetic combinations in each new born calf makes it worth while.
