Farm / History

I was working for a private utility company when in 1980 the opportunity came to move back to the family farm where I was raised. The farm is located in northwest Iowa approximately four miles south and one and a half miles west of Emmetsburg. The acres consist of corn, soybeans, alfalfa/grass hay and pasture. During the first years I fed out feeder calves and mostly grain farmed. In 1988 I bought my first angus cows. From then on I was hooked on angus and like the old saying goes, "The rest is history". Since then I have gradually increased the herd along with the hay and pasture. The first registered stock was purchased in 1991 from Lakes Angus. These older proven cows originated from Bon View Angus. Within the next few years I aquired younger cows and bred and open heifers originating from the following herds: O'Neill Angus, Lakes Angus, Jauer Angus Farm, Benson Angus Farm and Bruhn Angus Farm. Independence, Prompter, Traveler and New Trend lines have been the major influence of this herd. By starting with good foundation stock, the use of A.I. and being very selective with genetics I can offer good sound breeding replacements at a reasonable price. THANKS AGAIN FOR YOUR INTEREST!
